Magnetic coaxial cables

Magnetic (magnetisable) cables (RG174, RG179, RG188, RG316, Sucoform_86, SS405...) consist of an inner conductor made from steel, which is only copper-plated on the outside and partly silvered. The steel center provides the cable with more tensile strength (as well as making them more cost-effective) and merely disturb the transmission properties, as the high frequency line occurs mainly on the outside (skin effect).
