Dielectric
Dielectric is the insulation layer between the inner conductor and the shielding. The insulating material between the inner and outer conductor of a coaxial cable is a decisive factor for the characteristic impedance and the attenuation of the cable. Therefore, different materials are used here depending on the intended use of the cable. See table below.
